Moonlight Peaks Marriage: How to Propose, Get Married & Divorce
How marriage works in Moonlight Peaks: every marriage candidate, the eight-heart proposal route, wedding scheduling, what changes after marriage, divorce and whether you can have children.
You can date freely in Moonlight Peaks, but you only get to marry one resident at a time. The short answer is: reach eight hearts, see that candidate’s eight-heart scene, invite them on a date, then choose the proposal at the end of it. You set a wedding date on the spot; the calendar records it. This guide covers the launch-build route from dating to wedding and the option to change your mind later. For the four-heart date unlock and gifts that get you there, begin with the romance guide.
Who can you marry?
Every one of the town’s 23 romanceable residents can become your spouse. There’s no gender locking — court and marry whoever you click with. Here’s the full marriage roster, by household:
- Hosu mermaids — Kim, Rei, Tae
- Webb witches — Fiona, Luna, Noel, Sabrina
- Logan werewolves — Saga, Ridge, Ludo
- Ambrosia vampires — Orlock, Samael, Evan, Elvira, Mina
- Henderson humans — Persephone, Jada, Winston
- Khazan seers — Aras, Alina, Dragan
- And two of a kind — Death itself, and the Love Demon Llemi
Yes — you really can marry Death. He’s the one candidate players keep asking about, and he’s on the roster like everyone else. For portraits, birthdays and personalities to help you choose, browse the characters codex — the full romance-options roster.
Dating versus marriage: date many, commit to one
The distinction matters. You can ask several candidates on dates after they reach four hearts, and you can hold more than one Dating relationship while you decide. Marriage is the commitment point. Once you propose, the other people you were dating become Hurt, return to four hearts, and cannot be invited on new dates while you are married. This makes eight hearts the point to stop treating the system as a roster checklist and choose the character whose story you want to continue.
How to get married
Getting to a wedding has a specific release-build sequence:
- Reach eight hearts with a candidate. Daily chats, documented loved gifts and dates all help; the gift guide is a safer starting point than guessing.
- See their eight-heart scene. Check the map for sparkles to locate it. A full heart bar alone is not the final trigger.
- Invite them on a date. At the end of that date, the normal hug or kiss choice is joined by the proposal.
- Choose the wedding date. It is added to the calendar, so check it if you cannot remember when the ceremony will happen.
- Attend the ceremony. It occurs at the beginning of the chosen night and unlocks the Tied the Knot achievement.

Wedding attire from Third Eye Threads is optional, so do not postpone a proposal because you have not bought the white outfit. The cooking system also includes Pink, Red and Yellow Wedding Cakes if you want the ceremony to fit the occasion, but the reported proposal route does not require a cake item.
After the wedding
Marriage changes the relationship menu and your home, not just the label:
- Your spouse moves into your house. They still keep their ordinary town routine, so do not expect them to disappear from their usual work or exploration locations.
- Two final hearts open. Marriage returns the spouse to eight hearts and opens two more, for ten in total. You can continue inviting your spouse on dates to earn them.
- Other romances are locked. The candidates you were dating are set back to four hearts after the proposal. This is the principal cost of committing, rather than a permanent loss of the characters.
- There are no children. Raising kids is not part of the game, so the household remains the two of you (and any three-eyed Hellkitten you keep).
Divorce is available
Marriage is not an irreversible save-file decision. A few days after the wedding, Llemi visits to introduce divorce. Once the main story has opened Luna Bay and you can enter his home in the Pink Grove, tell him you want a divorce, then sleep. Your former spouse returns to Friend status on the following night with four hearts. You can rebuild that relationship later if you want another route.
Should you rush it?
No. The best candidate is not a universal “best spouse”; it is the person whose scenes, gifts and household story you are enjoying. Keep more than one route in the Dating stage while you learn the cast, then use the eight-heart scene as your point of comparison. For route-specific prerequisites, start with the characters codex — Samael, for example, needs a main-story unlock before the normal four-heart dating step is available.
For the dating system that leads here, read the romance guide; to learn each candidate’s verified gifts and birthday, see the gifts & friendship guide and the character codex.
