Not every animal in Moonlight Peaks is destined for the barn. The three-eyed Hellkitten is a confirmed companion pet — a small, mischievous black kitten with an extra eye or two, and precisely the kind of endearingly spooky friend the game’s tone is built for.

A cozy companion

Your three-eyed Hellkitten is a companion pet — a constant little presence to brighten your cottage and your nightly routine. You even name it during character creation, right alongside naming your vampire and your farm, though the kitten itself isn’t customisable the way your character is. It’s a small touch that does a lot for the game’s charm.

Companion pet vs. Hell Kitten form — don’t mix them up

Here’s a point of confusion worth clearing up, because the names overlap. There are two hellkitten things in Moonlight Peaks:

• The three-eyed Hellkitten companion — this page: the pet that lives with you, named in the character creator.
• The Hell Kitten shapeshift form — a shape you (the vampire) transform into, which is genuinely useful: it tills soil for less energy and moves faster. That’s covered in the shapeshifting & bat form guide.

So if you read that “the hellkitten tills crops,” that’s the form you turn into — not your little companion doing chores. Same adorable species, two different roles.

What the launch achievements confirm

The launch achievement list pins down a few real things about both the pet and the form:

• You can pet your companion — the AFKitten achievement asks you to “pet your Hellkitten for 5 consecutive minutes,” which is as cozy (and as gently absurd) as this game gets.
• The Hell Kitten form is story-unlocked — Purrgatory (“Unlock Hellkitten form”) is one of the three shapeshifting-form unlocks alongside Bat and Mermaid.
• The form lets you talk to animals — Do You Speak Animalese? rewards “talk to a creature in Hellkitten form,” a neat perk beyond the faster tilling.

So the kitten is both a pettable friend and the shape that unlocks a small animal-whispering ability once you’re transformed.

Part of a charming menagerie

The Hellkitten shares the spotlight with the farm’s Draculambs and the rest of the barnyard — Sheep, Piggoat, Cheeken and Cowcula.
