Moonlight Peaks developer Little Chicken Game Company has pushed out hotfix update 1.1.38 to address several performance hiccups and gameplay soft locks. While the patch successfully irons out some frustrating micro-stutters, players are still reporting a few nagging bugs that stall main questlines.

Micro-Stutters and Nokturna Soft Lock Resolved

According to the official patch notes, version 1.1.38 targets the short freezes occurring every 5 to 20 seconds during gameplay. Additionally, it fixes a bug where players would get trapped in a slow walking animation after transition screens when exiting doors.

The update also resolves a critical soft lock in the Nokturna card game. Previously, players could experience a complete freeze during the “new card” animation sequence, halting card progression entirely.

Unresolved Quest Bugs and Performance Concerns

Despite these fixes, players on the Switch and PC are still encountering progress-blocking bugs. A prominent community-reported issue involves the vampire mayor Orlock. Several players note that when undertaking the “Orlock’s Wine Scheme” and “A Bridge Too Far” quests simultaneously, Orlock remains permanently seated near the broken lamp, refusing to talk and effectively halting both storylines.

Performance on the original Nintendo Switch also remains a topic of discussion. While the game runs smoothly on modern PCs, players on older Switch hardware are still experiencing long load times, echoing concerns raised back during the pre-release demo. Reportedly, the developers are actively gathering feedback and working on additional optimization passes for the standard Switch console.

Lastly, Steam Deck players are reporting issues running BepInEx-based mods like “Save Anywhere” or “Far Sight” on the portable system. These modding tools fail to load for some users, although this remains a community-reported issue and is not officially supported by the developers.
